RAD 140 side effects: Testolone Benefits, Uses, Dosage (SARMS)

Whether you know it as Testolone or Rad 140, you’ve probably heard of the many benefits of Rad 140 from someone or another. Someone down the gym has probably been shouting about it for ages now.

It doesn’t come as a surprise to me how popular Rad-140 has become. We often need a helping hand to hit muscle goals, and Testolone is on its way to being the most popular aid out there.

We start off just fine. The routine of working to build muscle, bulking up and then going through a cut. But what if I told you that you could build lean body mass without any additional fat? Great, right?

You’d jump at the chance. Of course you would.

If a pharmaceutical company is going to develop a safe drug to supplement my workout sessions, with noticeable results in a few weeks, I would want to know about it.

So I did a whole bunch of digging to see if Rad-140 really is all it’s cracked up to be. Today we’ll be talking about what Testolone is, how to take it, Rad 140 results and even potential side effects.

Without further ado, let’s get to it.

What is Rad-140 (Testolone)?

Testolone (or Rad 140) is an investigational SARM (selective androgen receptor modulator) produced by Radius Health Inc. It is sold strictly for research purposes as it has not been licenced for human consumption.

Some studies have shown that Rad 140 Testolone can be effective at treating breast cancer, amongst other medicinal applications.

SARMs like Testolone work by mimicking the functions of androgens, which are natural hormones present in both male and female bodies. These androgens control the growth of secondary sex organs.

Anabolic steroids have androgenic properties which promote male characteristics which is why you can expect an increase in muscle mass. But SARMs like Testolone lead to more protein synthesis in the body, potentially increasing lean muscle mass, without the androgenic mess. It’s anabolic rather than androgenic.

But unlike testosterone, it is not something that is naturally produced in the body. Testolone targets and binds to androgen receptors, making it less harmful than your typical anabolic steroid. It is not yet clear exactly how permanently it affects your body’s natural processes, like gene expression.

Popular in bodybuilding circles, users claim that Rad 140 has muscle-building effects with very little fat gain. They see it as a safe alternative to anabolic steroids, without the needles.

Many consider Rad 140 Testolone as a substitute for TRT (testosterone replacement therapy), claiming it has the ability to gain muscle mass while also cutting body fat. However, while Rad 140 isn’t illegal to have, it is illegal to be used by professional and amateur league sportsmen.

This experimental drug hasn’t strictly been approved for human use, so why are bodybuilders so hung up on this popular SARM?

Does it really aid fat loss? Does it increase bone density? Does it really promote muscle growth? Are the muscle gains only temporary? How does it affect my internal organs?

As a relatively new SARM to the market, further studying and testing is needed to discover the true toxicity of Rad 140. The laboratory research just isn’t there yet.

How does Rad-140 work?

SARMs work by binding to androgen receptors, found in different parts of the body. Usually, these receptors interact with androgens, a group of steroid hormones. When we speak of these steroid hormones, we’re talking about those naturally produced by the body, including:

  • Testosterone
  • Dihydrotestosterone
  • Androstenedione

Generally, SARMs (including Rad 140) and testosterone have similar effects as they work on the same receptors.

But why has Rad 140 become so popular? When it comes to researchers, SARMs such as Rad-140 Testolone have long been fascinating. This is because SARMs are selective about where they target – aiming for predominantly muscle and bone tissues, with minimal effects on the prostate and other organs.

According to some research, SARMs have the potential to target and selectively activate different proteins than testosterone. This means that certain androgen receptors become activated – mainly those in your muscles. Researchers have also reported Rad 140 having a different structure to steroid hormones like testosterone.

These androgenic receptors, when activated, can be incredibly effective at boosting athletic performance by quickly building muscle tissues. It can be a shortcut to the twin peaks of fat loss and muscle gain.

This has meant that the pathways which convert testosterone into other hormones (such as estrogen) cannot act on Rad 140.

Much like Ostarine MK 2866, researchers believe there is potential for SARMs to treat muscle loss disorders, with fewer side effects than current treatments. However, there is still room for further research in this area. Again, there is no solid science to back this up.

The potential fewer side effects on the prostate and reproductive organs have made SARMs – such as Rad 140 – a popular go-to for bodybuilders and amateur athletes.

Is Rad 140 Testolone Legal?

So this is a bit of a grey area. Whilst it still has not been approved for human consumption, it is still legal to buy it for research purposes. That means you can order it to your door without the hassle and you can have it on you without problems.

But buying it to consume becomes illegal. Selling it for people to take is illegal.

This may sound a little confusing, maybe even a little absurd, but SARMs, in general, are still relatively new and they’re kind of sitting on that fine line between legal and not.

Until they undergo clinical trials and get approved by the FDA, or until they are actually outlawed outright, people will continue to buy and sell them with impunity. Because to prosecute someone for having them, you have to prove they bought it to use it. That’s near on impossible.

Is Rad 140 Testolone Safe?

Scour all the research you can handle, and you will come to the same conclusion I did: the jury is still out on this one.

While it certainly isn’t as harmful as anabolic steroids, I’d be lying if I said it was 100% safe. The fact is, more research needs to be done.

It has definitely shown promise in delivering on muscle gains. It has even shown promise in treating cancer. But what the long term effects are, no one knows. It’s too new. There are too many variables and too many differing user accounts on the effects of Rad 140.

Being one of the most powerful SARMs out there, it won’t be safe to use Testolone indefinitely. That much we can say. You will certainly need post cycle therapy (PCT) after about 6-8 weeks to normalise your body. But even with an effective PCT, the final word is yet to be given.

The truth is, we just don’t know yet.

Rad 140 results

Although you’ll probably find bodybuilders raving about Rad 140, this potentially impressive SARM has only been lab-tested on animals up to this point. That means there hasn’t been a single clinical trial to back up the hype.

In one study involving rats, researchers have suggested that Rad-140 could activate certain receptors in injured regions of the brain. They concluded that in the brains of rats when given a RAD 140 dosage, MAPK activity increased.

However, you’re not here to learn about Rad 140 results on rats, and I’m not here to beat about the bush. So let’s dive into how Rad 140 may promote muscle growth.

Rad 140 results range from around 8 to 15 pounds in gains per cycle. While the average sits at around 10 pounds, not all of this is lean tissue. You’re likely to experience some water retention and some fat gain. Not great, I know.

As well as the extra size, some users of Rad 140 have reported increased strength while taking this type of SARM.

So if lean muscle mass gains are what you’re after, this might not be the stuff for you. Bulking cycles are meant to promote muscle growth, not body fat. Ideally, you’d want to lose fat as you bank those muscle gains.

However, in order to keep your gains during a Rad 140 cycle, you’re going to need to jump into post cycle therapy (PCT) right after. Much like anabolic steroids, SARMs such as Rad-140 suppress your body’s natural testosterone production. And you need to give your body time to readjust.

The PCT should begin after a cycle of Rad 140, in order to kickstart your body into producing testosterone again. It’s pretty scary stuff – without PCT, you’ll probably lose all your gains and face serious side effects as your body struggles to get back to normal.

Some users reported minor side effects lasting for a few weeks after a cycle. Longer than that, there isn’t very much information.

It’s important to take into account the negative effects when taking SARMs. Don’t just ignore them. Some are milder than others, but the harmful effects can be just as potent. These are still research chemicals, after all.

To summarize, potential Rad 140 results include:

  • Increased muscle mass
  • Increased fat burn
  • Brain cell protection

Aside from helping you get stacked, Rad 140 has been associated with multiple medicinal purposes, including helping to treat certain breast cancers.

But I really can’t stress enough how much this is still in the developing stage. The positive effects reported by users like boosting performance, rapid recovery, and building muscle mass need to be balanced with the negative consequences like liver toxicity and a potential increase in body fat.

Doesn’t quite sound like a drug I’d like to play around with. Not if I can help it.

Rad 140 dosage

Compared to other SARMs, Rad-140 is considered a more potent cycle to undergo. Even at a lower dose, users have reported considerable gains.

Typically, a daily Rad 140 dosage would be around 10 to 20mg a day. If you’re a beginner when it comes to SARMs, you might want to opt for 10mg. Don’t be tempted to go over 20mg, however, as Rad-140 is simply too strong for this large a dose.

With a half-life of around 20 hours, most users of Rad-140 hit it once a day to maintain stable levels. This compares well to many anabolic steroids that have a much shorter half-life, meaning you’d have to take more doses in a day.

But what does an average Rad-140 cycle look like? You’re generally looking at a cycle of Rad 140 to last between 6 and 8 weeks, followed up with 4 to 6 weeks of post cycle therapy (PCT).

Since testolone is a suppressive SARM, PCT is needed in order to kickstart your body’s natural testosterone production. Skip this at your own peril. Really.

Now, since we’ve covered Rad 140 results, it’s about time we take a look at the potential testolone side effects. Like with any SARM, there are always potential side effects to consider.

But let’s just quickly see how it stacks first.

Stacking Rad 140 Testolone

Many bodybuilders choose to stack Testolone alongside other SARMs to get a real boost. Since it appears so versatile, some tend it include it as part of a bulking stack whereas others throw it in with a cutting stack.

Rad 140 Testolone can have quite a kick, so if you are thinking of stacking it you should definitely exercise some caution. Whereas most users notice a considerable amount of gains, these aren’t always the type of gains they anticipated.

With some water retention, you don’t quite get that definition or vascularity that pops out. SARMs don’t promise the kind of results you get with anabolic steroids, but they also don’t do the kind of damage that steroids can do. The anabolic effects of steroids are always going to be greater.

Some users have had success stacking it for weight loss, but Rad 140 Testolone would not be the first choice for most when it comes to cutting.

Whether stacking it or taking it solo, you really should think about a good post cycle therapy that includes decent supplements. Or your gains will very quickly disappear as your T-levels take their sweet time in ramping up again.

Rad 140 side effects

So. Now that we’ve covered what Rad 140 Testolone can potentially do in a good way, what about Rad-140 side effects?

Here are just a few testolone side effects you’d much rather avoid:

  • Headaches
  • Aggression
  • Nausea
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Acne
  • Hair loss or abnormal hair growth

And that’s only just a few! Of course, like any potent SARM, you’ll experience testosterone suppression. During a Rad 140 cycle, your T levels will increase. Great. But when your cycle finishes, your body’s natural T production will have completely halted.

Since your testosterone levels will be affected, you may experience side effects associated with a hormone imbalance – and of course, you’ll need PCT to help restore your testosterone. You will have to adjust your workout sessions for this, just like you would with anabolic steroids.

And if fat burning is your primary goal, rad 140 Testolone is definitely not what you want to go for. There is a significant difference between muscle gain and pure weight gain. Lean muscles should be the aim. That will always include at least some fat loss as you build muscle tissue. It’s all about lean muscle growth.

Alongside this, some Rad 140 side effects include muscle pain and swelling. Since your muscles are growing at a (somewhat unnatural!) faster rate, tendons and joints are often unable to keep up with the demand. You’re going to feel the burn and you will feel sore.

Another testolone side effect to add to the list is feeling restless. Since Rad-140 is pretty powerful, you’ll experience a lot of energy during your cycle – which can make getting sleep pretty tricky sometimes. Your brain cells are constantly firing on all cylinders.

Aggression is another nasty surprise for many when taking Testolone. All the synthetic materials being pumped around your body to boost testosterone levels tends to create a hormone imbalance that can make you feel restless, impatient and anxious. Many users become quite aggressive as a result.

Exhaustion is another serious side effect. During the cycle, you can overwork your body and this will become counterproductive as your energy levels start to drop after the initial high and your muscles and joints start to ache. After a cycle, your body is trying to rebalance itself and you can feel weak or lethargic for prolonged periods, really impacting your ability to push hard at the gym.

As well testosterone suppression and having more (than less) energy than you know what to do with, other Rad-140 side effects include headache, nausea, acne and blemishes. Those pesky pimples should disappear shortly after your Rad 140 dosage has stopped.

While we’ve covered it already, one of the biggest concerns with SARMs is their impact on your body’s natural testosterone production. Without PCT, you’re likely to lose your gains, making your cycle utterly pointless.

Is Rad-140 worth it?

With so few human studies, it’s not really clear how Rad 140 can impact your body in the long term. Going by user experiences so far, there are a lot of gains to be had. But there are also some nasty side effects. Plus, of course, the need for PCT after your Rad-140 cycle.

Without PCT, your body needs weeks (if not months) to recover after your natural testosterone production has been suppressed. Anabolic power and serious anabolic activity does come at a cost.

However, many users brag about Rad 140’s potential benefits, with some even claiming that Rad-140 improves sleep and sexual performance – although, no studies at all back this up.

The trouble is, with so little research or studies on the long term side effects of Rad 140, this SARM could potentially be seriously dangerous. As the strongest SARM around at the market, packing on size fast with this untested drug could be detrimental to your overall health. And that could be permanent.

So is there an alternative?

Opt for a legal, safer alternative

With the ability to suppress your natural testosterone production and potentially cause an estrogen build-up, is Rad 140 worth it? I’m definitely inclined to think not.

Fortunately, there are safer alternatives. Legal alternatives. Natural alternatives that skip the body horror show and deliver just as much impact.

RAD MAX was created to deliver the punch without the side effects. You can bulk up in a healthy, natural way. In a way that doesn’t leave you sore, lazy or aggressive. That doesn’t cause water retention or rely on unstable anabolic agents that screw up your insides.
